Session Description:

Learning about Property and Casualty Insurance - Part 2

Speaker:

Bill Barnes, Owner of Barnes Insurance Group;  bill@thinkbigagency.com

Bill has been married to his college sweetheart Sarah for 28 years. They are the parents of 2 fine young men. Tanner is 25 and works for the University of Wisconsin in their athletic department as a Digital Content Coordinator. Parker is 22 and is finishing his senior year at VCU. Thankfully they have no pets which helps with their passion of traveling as much as possible.

Prior to starting Barnes Insurance Group Bill worked in law enforcement with Henrico and Hanover Counties for 8 years. In 2000, he decided to do something safer and actually make some real money so he worked for Progressive Insurance in several different roles from 2000-2010.

In 2010 Bill started Barnes Insurance Group with no clients and a desire to build the best independent insurance agency he could. They now have over 3,500 clients, almost 10,000 policies, have acquired 4 other agencies, have 9 employees, and $8.5 million in premium. They have won over a dozen awards for customer service, production, and profitability.
